More than 17,500 residents have been moved to relief camps as heavy rains cause flooding across 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy monsoon rains have triggered widespread flooding in Uttar Pradesh, affecting 26 districts and forcing authorities to evacuate over 17,500 people to temporary shelters. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) coordinated the operation, deploying rescue teams, boats and trucks to reach stranded communities.

Relief camps have been set up in district headquarters and nearby towns, providing food, clean water and medical assistance. Local administration continues to monitor water levels, urging residents in low‑lying areas to stay alert and avoid travel on flooded roads.

The floods have disrupted power supply and damaged roads, hampering the delivery of essential services. Officials have appealed for public cooperation in maintaining sanitation at camps and have promised swift restoration of infrastructure once the waters recede.
