Orangutan rescued in Odisha amid smuggling probe

State wildlife officials in Odisha intercepted a transport vehicle and rescued an orangutan that appeared to be part of an illegal wildlife‑smuggling network. The animal was taken into protective custody after officers verified that it was not a captive specimen belonging to a legitimate sanctuary.
