Cyclone Arnab and a western disturbance have prompted an orange weather alert across 15 districts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur and Bharatpur, with warnings of heavy rain and hail in eastern areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised an orange alert for fifteen districts in Rajasthan as Cyclone Arnab intensifies over the Arabian Sea and a western disturbance pushes moisture into the state. Districts such as Jaipur, Bharatpur, Alwar, and others are now under heightened scrutiny for potentially severe weather.

Meteorologists warn that the combined effect of the cyclone and the western disturbance will bring heavy rainfall, gusty winds and, in the eastern parts of the state, a risk of hailstorms. The IMD has advised residents to stay alert, secure loose objects, and avoid non-essential travel during the peak of the weather system.

Local authorities in Jaipur and Bharatpur have begun pre‑emptive measures, including readiness of emergency response teams and dissemination of safety guidelines through media channels. The orange alert will remain in force until the system moves away or weakens, after which the IMD will reassess and issue further updates as needed.

The public is urged to monitor official bulletins and heed instructions from district disaster management officials to minimise any impact on life and property.
