More than 140 opposition MPs began a march from Parliament to the All India Radio building in Delhi, demanding action on alleged vote rigging and the role of the Chief Election Commissioner.
On Tuesday, a large opposition rally set out from the Parliament House in New Delhi, heading towards the Akashvani (All India Radio) building. The demonstrators cited recent revelations about alleged vote theft and questioned the conduct of the Chief Election Commissioner.
The procession included over 140 members of the India Block, among them senior leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Both leaders were seen seated on the pavement outside the Akashvani premises, underscoring the protest's seriousness.
Organisers have lodged an FIR against the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner, accusing them of failing to address the alleged irregularities. The march aims to pressure the authorities to investigate the claims and ensure a transparent electoral process.
Security forces were deployed along the route, but no major incidents were reported. The opposition hopes the demonstration will compel the Election Commission to take swift corrective action.
