One Body Recovered After Drowning at Sitangar Dam, Second Missing in Damoh

After a three‑hour rescue, the State Disaster Emergency Response Force recovered the body of one of two young men who drowned at Sitangar Dam in Damoh. The second victim remains missing.
On Sunday, two young men were bathing at Sitangar Dam in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh when they fell into deep water and drowned.
The State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) launched a rescue operation that lasted nearly three hours. Using a motorboat, the team was able to locate and retrieve the body of one victim.
The second young man is still missing. Search teams are continuing their efforts in the surrounding area.
Local authorities have urged caution near the dam and are coordinating with SDERF to locate the missing individual.
