Odisha government announced plans to involve 4.5 lakh young people in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue scheduled for 2027. The initiative seeks to empower youth through leadership training and civic engagement.
The state’s higher education department revealed that the dialogue will be held in phases across various districts, targeting students and young professionals aged 18 to 30. Organizers said the programme will include workshops, mentorship sessions and community projects designed to build leadership skills.
Officials emphasized that the initiative aligns with the national Viksit Bharat vision, aiming to prepare youth for future challenges in governance, entrepreneurship and social development. Participation will be free of cost, with travel and material support provided for selected candidates.
By 2027, Odisha expects to have trained at least 4.5 lakh youths, creating a network of young leaders who can contribute to local and national progress. The government will monitor outcomes through regular feedback and impact assessments.
