The OBC Mahasabha staged demonstrations across all districts of Madhya Pradesh on October 28, demanding the reinstatement of the 27% reservation for OBCs and submitted a memorandum to the state government.
On October 28, the OBC Mahasabha coordinated dharnas in every district of Madhya Pradesh, urging the state to restore the 27% reservation quota for Other Backward Classes that had been reduced earlier.
Supporters gathered at district headquarters, raised slogans, and later compiled a memorandum detailing their demand, which was handed over to the state administration in Bhopal.
The protest arrives amid ongoing debates over reservation policies in the state, with the Mahasabha arguing that the cutback undermines the socio‑economic upliftment of the OBC community.
State officials have not yet issued a formal response, but the demonstration adds political pressure ahead of any legislative review of the quota.
