Nursing officer Snehalata disappeared after traveling to Kanpur on Oct 8, and police have named her live‑in partner Satyprakash as a murder suspect, alleging the body may have been dumped in the Pachanda River.
Bhind police received a missing‑person report on October 9 after nursing officer Snehalata failed to return home following a trip to Kanpur on October 8. The 28‑year‑old officer, employed with the state health department, was last seen boarding a train to Kanpur and has not been heard from since.
During preliminary questioning, investigators focused on Snehalata's live‑in partner, Satyprakash, who was present at the residence when she disappeared. Police said Satyprakash's statements raised suspicion, leading them to register a murder case against him.
According to the interrogation record, Satyprakash allegedly disclosed that the body was disposed of in the Pachanda River, a tributary flowing near Bhind. Officers have launched a search operation along the riverbanks and are collecting forensic evidence to confirm the claim.
The case has heightened local concern, prompting authorities to appeal for any witnesses or information that could aid the investigation. The police have also informed Snehalata's family and are providing counseling support.
