The National Students' Union of India staged a candle-lit march in Delhi, calling for swift justice for a woman assaulted on a bus.
Delhi – Members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) gathered in the capital for a candle-lit march aimed at securing justice for a woman who was allegedly raped on a public bus. The demonstration, held in the evening, featured participants holding candles and chanting slogans that demanded a fast‑track investigation and accountability for the perpetrators.
Organisers said the protest was intended to keep public attention on the case and to press law‑enforcement agencies to act promptly. They urged the authorities to ensure that the victim receives protection and that the accused are brought before the court without delay.
The march concluded with a call for solidarity among students, women's groups and civil society to stand against sexual violence on public transport. No official response from the police or government agencies has been reported at the time of writing.
