On Dussehra, NSUI activists set fire to an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Pipulani Chowk in Bhopal, demanding a transparent response to alleged vote‑theft.

On the festival of Dussehra, members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) gathered at Pipulani Chowk in Bhopal and publicly burned a life‑size effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The demonstration was organised to voice strong opposition to what the party describes as irregularities in the recent voting process.

NSUI leaders alleged that the commission had allowed vote‑theft in the latest elections and called for an immediate, detailed explanation from the Election Commission of India. They demanded that the commission disclose the mechanisms used to safeguard the integrity of the ballot and address any discrepancies identified.

As of now, the Election Commission has not issued an official statement on the protest or the specific allegations raised by NSUI. The incident adds to a series of political demonstrations across the country where parties seek greater transparency in electoral affairs.
