The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to identify potential locations for future nuclear power projects in Gujarat.
NPCIL and GSECL have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at scouting new sites for nuclear power plants in Gujarat. The agreement will see the two organisations collaborate on site identification, feasibility studies and coordination with state authorities. Gujarat, with its extensive coastline and growing electricity demand, has been highlighted as a strategic location for expanding India’s nuclear capacity. The MoU is part of the broader national strategy to diversify power sources and meet rising energy needs.
