The North Western Railway zone has announced additional special trains for upcoming festivals in Rajasthan, along with route modifications and longer service periods to accommodate higher passenger demand.
The North Western Railway (NWR) has responded to the surge in passenger traffic expected during the festive season by introducing a series of special train services across Rajasthan. The move aims to provide additional capacity for travelers heading to popular holiday destinations and religious sites.
Under the new schedule, several existing routes will see extra coaches and extended running times, while a few services will be rerouted to cover high-demand stations that were previously skipped. The railway has also lengthened the operating period of these special trains, ensuring they run for a longer stretch of the festival calendar.
Railway officials said the adjustments are based on data from previous years, which showed a sharp rise in bookings during Diwali, Holi and other regional celebrations. They expect the enhanced services to ease crowding, reduce wait times at stations, and improve overall travel experience for the millions of festival-goers in the state.
