NMC approves two new medical colleges in Bihar, adds 100 MBBS seats

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has formally approved the establishment of two new medical colleges in the state of Bihar. The approval authorises the institutions to admit a combined total of 100 undergraduate MBBS students.\n\nThe addition comes at a time when Bihar has been grappling with a shortfall of medical seats relative to its large population. Expanding the number of MBBS seats is expected to improve the doctor‑patient ratio and enhance access to quality healthcare in the region.\n\nBoth colleges will now proceed with the required infrastructure development, faculty recruitment and affiliation processes as stipulated by the NMC.
