The North Eastern Institute launched a five‑day faculty development programme focused on the National Council for Academic and Humanistic Programs' competency‑based curriculum.

The North Eastern Institute (NIU) commenced a five‑day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) aimed at familiarising educators with the competency‑based curriculum framework introduced by the National Council for Academic and Humanistic Programs (NCAHP). The training, scheduled from [date] to [date], covered curriculum design, assessment strategies, and implementation techniques tailored to higher education institutions.

Organisers highlighted that the NCAHP curriculum seeks to shift from rote learning to outcome‑oriented teaching, emphasizing skill acquisition and interdisciplinary learning. Expert facilitators from the council and partner universities delivered interactive sessions, case studies, and hands‑on workshops.

Participants, comprising faculty members from various colleges, engaged in collaborative discussions to adapt the new curriculum to their respective disciplines. The programme concluded with a feedback session, where attendees expressed optimism about the curriculum's potential to enhance student competencies and employability.

NIU officials indicated that similar FDPs will be rolled out across other states to ensure a smooth transition to the NCAHP framework nationwide.
