Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launched the state‑run Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan bus scheme and the centrally supported PM E‑Bus Sewa in Madhya Pradesh, aiming to expand affordable and electric public transport.
Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari officially launched two new bus initiatives in Madhya Pradesh. The state‑run Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan service is designed to provide affordable inter‑city and intra‑city connectivity for commuters across the region.
Alongside the state scheme, the centrally funded PM E‑Bus Sewa was introduced to promote electric mobility on key routes. The e‑bus fleet aims to reduce carbon emissions and lower operating costs for passengers.
Both programmes are part of a broader effort by the Madhya Pradesh government to modernise public transport infrastructure, improve last‑mile connectivity, and encourage a shift from private vehicles to shared, low‑pollution alternatives.
Officials said the services will be rolled out in phases, with initial routes covering major towns and district headquarters. The launch underscores the government's commitment to sustainable transport solutions ahead of upcoming national clean‑energy targets.
