NITI Aayog Reviews Major Development Projects in Jammu & Kashmir

NITI Aayog, the apex policy think‑tank of the Government of India, has carried out a comprehensive review of major development projects and initiatives currently being implemented in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The review encompasses a range of sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, tourism and other priority areas identified by the centre.
The purpose of the exercise is to assess the progress of each project, identify implementation bottlenecks and suggest corrective measures that can accelerate delivery of public services. Senior officials of the think‑tank met with state administrators and project managers to gather on‑ground data and feedback.
Based on the findings, NITI Aayog will prepare a detailed report for the Union Government, outlining recommendations for resource allocation, timeline adjustments and policy interventions needed to ensure the initiatives meet their intended objectives.
The review is part of the central government's broader effort to monitor and boost development in Jammu and Kashmir following the region’s recent administrative changes.
