Rescue teams saved nine individuals swept away by the strong current of the Gaderi River in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh.

Rescue teams from the local police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached the Gaderi River near the outskirts of Sagar district early on Tuesday. The strong current, intensified by recent rains, had swept nine people—four men, three women, and two children—into the water.

Responders used boats and ropes to pull the victims to safety, while medical teams on standby provided first aid. All nine were reported to be in stable condition and were transported to the nearest hospital for observation.

Officials said the incident occurred around 10 a.m. and that the river’s flow had increased significantly due to the monsoon rains earlier in the week. They urged residents to exercise caution near the riverbanks during the rainy season.

The local administration has announced a review of safety measures along the Gaderi River and plans to install warning signs and barriers in high-risk areas.
