The nomination process for by‑elections to fill three vacant ward seats in Raisen’s district panchayat has concluded, with nine aspirants filing papers. A verification of the nomination forms is scheduled for 18 September.

The district panchayat of Raisen has completed the nomination stage for by‑elections in three vacant wards. A total of nine candidates have submitted their nomination papers – four for Ward‑3, three for Ward‑14 and two for Ward‑17. The filing deadline has now passed, and the election officials will move to the verification phase.

The verification of all nomination documents is slated for 18 September. Election officers will scrutinise each application to confirm eligibility, ensure required deposits are paid and check that no disqualifications apply. Candidates who clear this check will be confirmed on the final ballot.

These by‑elections are being held to fill the empty seats that arose after previous representatives vacated their positions. The outcome will determine the composition of the district panchayat, which plays a key role in local governance, development projects and resource allocation in the Raisen region.
