Nine Bangladeshi Nationals Die in Kolkata Hotel Fire

A blaze erupted in the early hours of Wednesday at a hotel in Kolkata, West Bengal, claiming the lives of nine Bangladeshi nationals who were staying there. The fire was reported shortly after midnight, prompting an immediate response from the city fire brigade.
Six additional occupants sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Medical teams confirmed that all injured persons are receiving care, with several in serious condition.
Kolkata police and fire officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, examining possible electrical faults or other hazards. The hotel has been cordoned off while forensic teams collect evidence.
The victims, all foreign nationals from Bangladesh, were identified by the Consulate of Bangladesh in Kolkata, which has been coordinating with local authorities to inform families.
