The National Investigation Agency has searched five locations nationwide as part of the Operation Sindoor cyberattack case, targeting alleged perpetrators of a large‑scale hacking operation.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched coordinated searches at five undisclosed sites across the country on Tuesday, continuing its probe into the Operation Sindoor cyberattack. The operation, first reported earlier this year, is alleged to involve a sophisticated hacking network that targeted government and private sector databases.

According to officials, the raids were carried out simultaneously in multiple states to prevent the suspects from destroying evidence. NIA teams seized electronic devices, storage media and related documentation believed to contain data on the intrusion methods and the identities of the alleged hackers.

Law enforcement sources said the investigation remains ongoing and that further arrests could follow as forensic analysis of the seized material progresses. No arrests have been publicly confirmed yet, and the agency has not disclosed the specific locations or the number of individuals involved.

The Operation Sindoor case underscores growing concerns over cyber‑security threats in India and highlights the NIA's expanding role in tackling sophisticated cyber crimes that cross state boundaries.

Authorities have urged organizations to strengthen their digital defenses and cooperate with investigative agencies to curb future attacks.
