The National Investigation Agency has carried out searches in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat as part of a cyber‑terrorism investigation.

New Delhi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched search operations in two western states, Maharashtra and Gujarat, in connection with a cyber‑terrorism case. The agency’s teams entered selected locations in both states to gather evidence and identify individuals linked to the alleged online extremist activities.

Officials said the searches are part of a broader effort to curb the use of digital platforms for terror-related planning and recruitment. While the exact number of premises searched has not been disclosed, the NIA emphasized that the operation follows intelligence inputs indicating a coordinated cyber threat.

The agency has not released further details about the nature of the alleged cyber‑terror activities or any arrests made so far. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online behavior to the police.

The NIA continues to monitor digital channels for signs of extremist content and is coordinating with state law‑enforcement agencies to strengthen cyber security measures across the country.
