A newborn’s body was discovered on a roadside with portions of the head and hand missing, prompting authorities to suspect an animal attack after passers‑by reported the grim find.
Police were alerted on Tuesday when a passerby reported a newborn’s corpse lying on a rural road. The body was found partially concealed by vegetation, and investigators noted that sections of the head and one hand were absent.
Forensic officers who examined the scene said the missing parts could indicate a violent encounter with an animal, a hypothesis being considered alongside other possibilities. No immediate signs of foul play were observed, but the unusual injuries have raised concerns among local residents.
Authorities have opened a formal inquiry, urging anyone with information about recent wildlife activity or unusual animal behavior in the area to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the exact cause of death.
