Fast bowlers Ferguson and Henry have been ruled out of the upcoming T20 International series against India, reducing New Zealand’s pace options.
New Zealand Cricket confirmed that pace bowlers Ferguson and Henry will not feature in the three‑match T20 International series scheduled against India later this month. The announcement was made ahead of the squad’s final preparations, leaving the team with fewer frontline fast‑bowling options.
The board did not disclose specific reasons for their exclusion, noting only that the two players are unavailable for selection. Their absence comes as New Zealand looks to balance its attack with the remaining pacers and spin resources.
India, which will host the series, is expected to field a strong side, and New Zealand’s reduced pace stock may influence its strategic planning for the short format. The series is set to begin on [date], with matches to be played in major Indian venues.
Cricket analysts suggest that the team will rely on experienced bowlers such as [placeholder] and give opportunities to emerging talent to fill the gap left by Ferguson and Henry.
