A recent study has outlined a set of strategies aimed at revitalising Kerala’s natural rubber sector, which has been experiencing a downturn in recent years.
The report, prepared by a team of researchers, highlights the challenges faced by rubber growers and processors and proposes a range of measures to address them.
Among the recommendations are initiatives to improve cultivation practices, enhance processing infrastructure, and strengthen market linkages, all designed to increase the sector’s resilience and profitability.
The findings come at a time when the industry is looking for ways to counter price volatility and growing competition from synthetic alternatives.
Stakeholders in the sector, including farmers, cooperatives and industry bodies, have welcomed the study’s recommendations as a timely roadmap for sustainable growth.
