Governor‑designate Brajmohan Ram will pay a ceremonial visit to the Jagannath Temple in Puri today, a day before his official oath‑taking on Sunday.
Brajmohan Ram, appointed as the new Governor of Odisha, is scheduled to visit the historic Jagannath Temple in Puri today. The visit is being presented as a cultural and religious gesture ahead of his formal swearing‑in ceremony, which is set for Sunday.
The Jagannath Temple, one of the state’s most revered pilgrimage sites, often hosts dignitaries and political leaders during important occasions. Ram’s itinerary includes a brief audience with temple priests before he proceeds to the official oath‑taking venue.
State officials have confirmed that the Governor‑designate will assume office after the Sunday ceremony, marking the latest in a series of recent gubernatorial appointments across India. No further public statements have been released regarding his agenda as Governor.
The visit underscores the customary practice of newly appointed officials seeking blessings at prominent religious sites before assuming their duties, a tradition observed in several Indian states.
