A new Industrial Training Institute (ITI) programme is set to commence in Pecharthal, a neighbourhood of Agartala, the capital of Tripura. The initiative, announced by state authorities, seeks to provide vocational training in a range of technical trades to the region’s young workforce.
The ITI will offer courses in areas such as electrical work, plumbing, and computer operation, with the aim of equipping students with employable skills that align with local industry needs. The facility is expected to accommodate several hundred trainees each year.
Officials say the programme will be part of a broader effort to boost skill development in the state, creating employment opportunities and reducing migration for work. The inaugural batch is slated to begin in the coming months, with enrolment open to residents of Tripura who meet the eligibility criteria.
