A new honey processing facility is set to be established in Nagrota Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh, aiming to boost the region’s apiculture sector.
State officials announced that a dedicated honey processing plant will be built in the town of Nagrota Bagwan, marking a significant step for Himachal Pradesh’s beekeeping community. The facility is intended to provide local producers with a modern venue to clean, grade and package honey, reducing reliance on distant processing units.
By adding value locally, the plant is expected to improve earnings for beekeepers and create ancillary jobs in packaging, logistics and quality control. Industry observers note that such infrastructure can also help meet growing domestic demand for pure honey and open avenues for export.
The project is currently in the implementation phase, with construction slated to begin shortly and operations to commence in the near future, subject to standard regulatory approvals.
