New Delhi railway station will see restricted operations and several train cancellations as the city prepares for the BRICS Summit 2026.

The Indian Railways has announced that operations at New Delhi railway station will be tightly regulated in the lead‑up to the BRICS Summit 2026. Several long‑distance and local trains scheduled to stop at the station have been cancelled or rescheduled to avoid congestion and ensure security. The decision comes after the Ministry of Railways consulted with the Delhi Police and the National Security Guard to coordinate crowd control measures for the summit.

Passengers are advised to check the official Indian Railways website or the IRCTC app for updated timetables. The railway authorities have also set up additional security checkpoints and increased the presence of trained personnel at the station premises.

The BRICS Summit, which will host leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, is expected to attract a large number of delegations and media personnel. The railways aim to balance the needs of regular commuters with the logistical demands of the international event.

The Ministry of Railways has promised that any disruptions will be minimized and that alternative routes will be made available where possible. Commuters are urged to plan their journeys in advance and to use other modes of transport if necessary.

The announcement comes as part of a broader effort to ensure smooth operations across Delhi’s transport network during the summit week.
