A newly opened bridge intended to reduce traffic congestion has instead become a source of gridlock, officials say. Traffic snarls have worsened in the days following its inauguration.
The bridge, inaugurated a few days ago, was designed to divert traffic from the congested main road.
However, commuters are reporting increased delays as the new structure has become a bottleneck.
Traffic authorities are investigating the cause and considering temporary measures to ease the flow.
Officials have urged commuters to exercise patience as adjustments are made to the traffic management plan.
