Indian Railways has approved a thrice‑weekly Amrit Bharat Express between Barwani in Madhya Pradesh and Bhuj in Gujarat, covering 2,532 km and linking Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
The Ministry of Railways has given the green light to launch a new Amrit Bharat Express connecting Barwani in Madhya Pradesh with Bhuj in Gujarat. The service will run three times a week and traverse approximately 2,532 kilometres, making it one of the longest weekly routes in the network.
The train will pass through four key states – Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar – providing direct connectivity for passengers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to the western coast of Gujarat. Officials said the route is expected to reduce travel time compared with existing services and ease congestion on parallel corridors.
Railway authorities anticipate that the new express will boost passenger traffic, support regional trade and tourism, and offer a faster, more comfortable option for long‑distance travelers across the heartland of India.
