Netflix has introduced a new content hub called Southverse, dedicated to films and series produced in the four southern states of India.
Netflix announced the launch of Southverse, a dedicated vertical that will focus on movies and series from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, aiming to bring regional storytelling to a global audience.
The initiative comes amid rising demand for regional Indian content on streaming services, and Southverse will feature a mix of new original productions and licensed titles across genres such as drama, thriller and comedy.
Company officials said the platform will give greater visibility to creators from the south, help expand Netflix's subscriber base in the region, and provide subtitles and dubbing to reach non‑regional viewers.
