A flash flood in Nepal is not expected to affect Uttar Pradesh, but the disaster has left 105 Indian tourists unaccounted for.

A sudden flash flood struck parts of Nepal earlier this week, prompting concerns about downstream effects in neighboring Indian states, especially Uttar Pradesh. Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have assessed the situation and concluded that the floodwaters are unlikely to breach the border or cause major damage within the state.

The Nepalese disaster, however, has resulted in a large number of missing tourists. Preliminary reports indicate that 105 Indian nationals are among those unaccounted for after the flood swept through popular trekking routes and campsites.

Rescue teams from Nepal, along with Indian consular officials, are conducting joint search operations. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory urging families of the missing to register their concerns and cooperate with the ongoing efforts.

Officials warned that while the immediate threat to Uttar Pradesh remains low, the focus now shifts to locating the missing tourists and providing assistance to their families.
