The North Eastern Council has closed projects worth Rs 11.55 crore in Assam and approved an extra release of Rs 4.42 crore, according to India Today NE.

The North Eastern Council (NEC) announced the closure of development projects in Assam with a total outlay of Rs 11.55 crore. The decision marks the completion of the funded activities under the council's regional development scheme.

In addition to the closure, NEC approved the disbursement of an extra Rs 4.42 crore to support pending obligations and final settlements related to the same projects. The funds are expected to be transferred to the respective implementing agencies within the next few days.

The council, which oversees economic and infrastructural initiatives across the eight northeastern states, said the release will ensure that all contractual commitments are met and that the projects conclude without financial bottlenecks.

State officials welcomed the move, noting that timely fund clearance helps maintain momentum in ongoing development work and strengthens confidence among local contractors.

India Today NE reported the figures based on official NEC communications.
