A team of National Cadet Corps cadets from India successfully crossed the 5,578‑metre Parang La Pass in Ladakh, marking a first for an all‑female NCC contingent.
A group of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, all female, completed a high‑altitude trek across Parang La Pass, which rises to 5,578 metres in the rugged terrain of Ladakh. The expedition, organized as part of the NCC's adventure training programme, was carried out under the supervision of senior instructors and followed a strict acclimatization schedule.
The team navigated steep icy slopes, unpredictable weather and thin air, typical of the trans‑Himalayan region. Despite the challenges, the cadets maintained a steady pace and reached the summit without major incidents, demonstrating both physical endurance and disciplined teamwork.
