The National Crime Bureau dismantled a drug diversion network that moved opioid shipments from a storage facility in Gujarat to street-level dealers in Mumbai.

The National Crime Bureau (NCB) on Thursday arrested a key operative of an opioid diversion ring that funneled drugs from a godown in Gujarat to dealers in Mumbai. Intelligence reports indicate the network used a series of transport vehicles to move the narcotics across state borders before distributing them on the streets of Mumbai.
The operation, coordinated with state police, led to the seizure of over 500 kilograms of heroin and related paraphernalia. Several suspects were taken into custody and are awaiting trial.
NCB officials said the crackdown was part of a larger campaign to curb opioid trafficking in the western region. They also highlighted the role of inter‑state cooperation in dismantling the ring.
Mumbai police spokesperson assured the public that additional measures would be taken to prevent future drug diversion from Gujarat to the city.
