MLA Questions Police
In the video, Sahoo can be heard questioning the police over how non-students allegedly managed to enter the women’s college despite security arrangements.
“How could miscreants get inside the women’s college? What were you doing at the time? If you were deployed at the college, how did non-students manage to enter the college premises? As a public representative, I demand these answers,” Sahu said while addressing the police.
However, his reaction to the allegations could not be obtained.
Restrictions On Public Representatives
The incident raised questions over the MLA’s presence at the college during the students’ union election, as restrictions were in place on the entry of public representatives during the polling process.

BJP Questions MLA’s Role
Meanwhile, Odisha BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal criticised Sahoo’s involvement in the matter and stated that it was against the rules for the MLA to intervene in the students’ union election.
“It was against the rules for MLA Arun Sahoo to get involved in this. As per the guidelines, student elections should not have any affiliation with any political party. He is an elected representative, yet he broke the rules himself,” Biswal said.
