Inmates of Indore’s central jail marked Navratri with garba dances, a drama on Goddess Kali and a communal prasadam distribution.
Indore's central jail observed the Navratri festival by organizing a series of cultural programmes that blended devotion and entertainment. Male and female inmates participated together, performing traditional garba steps in the prison courtyard as part of the worship of Goddess Durga.
The highlight of the event was a dramatized rendition of Goddess Kali’s fierce form, staged by the prisoners and received enthusiastic applause from the audience. Alongside the dance, other cultural acts showcased regional music and folk performances, creating a vibrant atmosphere within the correctional facility.
A senior official attended as the chief guest and distributed khichdi as prasadam to the participants, emphasizing the spirit of communal harmony and spiritual reflection even behind bars.
