India and China will restart commercial traffic through Sikkim’s Nathu La on 1 August, ending a six‑year pause.

Border trade via Sikkim's Nathu La will resume on August 1 after a six‑year hiatus.

The pass, which links the Indian state of Sikkim with the Chinese province of Sikkim, had been closed to commercial traffic since 2017.

The reopening is expected to revive trade between the two countries and benefit local traders.
