The town of Nalbari in Assam is hoping for a new cinema hall, a nod to its past love for Bharatiya talkies.
Nalbari, a town in Assam, is known for its nostalgic connection to the golden era of Indian cinema, often referred to as Bharatiya talkies.
Despite this cultural affinity, the town currently lacks a modern cinema hall, leaving residents to rely on older venues or travel to nearby cities for screenings.
Local officials and community groups have been advocating for a new multiplex that would not only provide contemporary film experiences but also preserve the town's cinematic heritage.
The project is still in the planning stages, with discussions underway about funding, location, and potential partnerships to bring a state‑of‑the‑art cinema to Nalbari.
