Nalanda's rivers recede after heavy rains, water levels drop, officials say situation under control

Technical analysis by the Water Resources Department indicates that after the recent downpour, river flows in Nalanda district are below danger marks and water levels are falling.
Heavy showers swept across Nalanda district earlier this week, causing localized waterlogging in several low‑lying areas. Relief measures were promptly deployed, and the rain has now eased, allowing authorities to assess the situation.
The Water Resources Department conducted a technical review of the post‑rain scenario and reported that the overall condition is normal and under control. Their assessment focused on river flow rates, water storage levels and ground saturation.
All major rivers in the district are now flowing below the predefined danger thresholds, and monitoring stations have recorded a noticeable decline in water levels across multiple points.
While the immediate threat has subsided, officials remain on alert, continuing to monitor river gauges and weather forecasts to ensure any further rise in water is detected early.
