The Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh has disclosed that a Naib Tehsildar appointed a private clerk to act as an intermediary for receiving illegal payments. The investigation revealed that the clerk was tasked with collecting bribes on behalf of the officer, violating anti-corruption statutes.
Authorities seized documentary evidence linking the two officials and initiated legal action under the state's Prevention of Corruption Act. Both the Naib Tehsildar and the private clerk have been taken into custody for further questioning.
