Nagpur Police Commissioner Calls for Proactive Policing Tailored to Local Needs

The commissioner of Nagpur police announced a new policing strategy that moves beyond reactive measures, emphasizing prevention and community‑based initiatives. He said the approach will be shaped by detailed assessments of crime patterns, traffic issues and public safety concerns unique to each ward. The plan includes increased foot patrols, better coordination with local resident welfare associations and the use of data analytics to anticipate hotspots. Officials expect the proactive model to improve response times and build trust between the police and citizens. The directive will be rolled out over the coming weeks, with regular reviews to fine‑tune operations.
