Police in Nagaur district announced the seizure of a fraud ring that had been targeting local farmers with false promises of crop‑insurance compensation. Investigators said the suspects approached farmers, collected money under the pretext of filing insurance claims, and then vanished with the funds.
During the operation, officers recovered forged insurance applications, bank receipts, official stamps and a laptop believed to contain records of the scam. The seized documents reportedly included counterfeit claim forms submitted on behalf of the victims.
Four individuals were taken into custody and are being questioned for further involvement in the scheme. The police have urged other farmers to verify the authenticity of any insurance agents and to report suspicious solicitations to authorities.
