Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of Nagaland stated that the recently launched FNTA initiative is designed to address persistent development gaps in the state’s eastern districts. He highlighted that the region has lagged behind in infrastructure, education and livelihood opportunities compared to other parts of Nagaland.
Rio explained that FNTA will channel state resources and central assistance into targeted projects such as road connectivity, health centres, and skill‑training programmes. The aim is to create a more balanced growth pattern and improve the quality of life for residents in the eastern tribal areas.
The announcement was made during a press briefing in Kohima, where the CM reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development. Officials said implementation will begin in the coming months, with regular monitoring to ensure the intended outcomes are achieved.
