Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio surveyed the infrastructure and logistics set for the 2026 Hornbill Festival at Kisama, confirming readiness ahead of the event.

Kohima, Nagaland – The state’s chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, visited the Kisama Heritage Village on Monday to review the arrangements for the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2026. During the site inspection, he examined the main stage, exhibition zones, and accommodation facilities earmarked for artists and tourists.

Rio met with senior officials from the Department of Tourism and the festival’s organizing committee, discussing security protocols, traffic management, and waste‑handling plans. He emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural authenticity of the event while ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for visitors.

The chief minister concluded the visit by expressing confidence that the preparations are on track and urged all stakeholders to maintain the momentum as the festival, scheduled for early December, approaches.

Local vendors and tribal performers are expected to showcase traditional crafts, music, and dance, contributing to the festival’s reputation as a premier cultural showcase of the Northeast.

The review comes ahead of a series of promotional activities aimed at attracting domestic and international tourists to Nagaland’s vibrant heritage.
