The Naga Students’ Organisation publicly denounced recent reports of drone attacks on civilians in areas of Nagaland claimed by Myanmar, labeling the strikes a breach of human rights.

The Naga Students’ Organisation issued a statement on Tuesday condemning reports of drone strikes that targeted civilians in parts of Nagaland that are reportedly under Myanmar control. The organization described the attacks as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and called for an immediate investigation by relevant authorities.

According to local sources, the drones allegedly fired indiscriminately in populated villages, causing panic among residents and damaging property. No official casualty figures have been released, but the group urged the government to provide assistance to affected families.

The student body appealed to both the Indian and Myanmar governments to halt any further use of aerial weaponry against civilians and to engage in dialogue to resolve the territorial dispute peacefully. It also demanded that media outlets verify the incidents before reporting.

The condemnation adds to growing concerns over cross‑border tensions in the Northeast, where armed confrontations have periodically flared in recent months. Officials have not yet responded to the organisation’s call for action.
