Police in Mizoram arrested a Myanmar national carrying methamphetamine tablets estimated at Rs 11.4 crore.

Mizoram police detained a foreign national from Myanmar after uncovering a cache of methamphetamine tablets valued at approximately Rs 11.4 crore. The seizure was made during a routine check at a checkpoint in the state, where the individual was found in possession of the illicit substances.

Authorities said the tablets were packaged in bulk and appeared to be intended for distribution across the northeastern region of India. The case is being investigated by the state's anti‑drug cell, which is coordinating with central agencies to trace the supply chain and identify any local collaborators.

The large‑scale bust underscores growing concerns about cross‑border drug trafficking through the India‑Myanmar frontier. Officials emphasized that stringent enforcement actions will continue to curb the flow of narcotics into the country.
