Mumbai residents have been alerted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) following an Orange weather warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday. The alert forecasts a significant chance of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes across the city.
In addition to the potential for lightning, the IMD's warning indicates that isolated areas may experience moderate to intense spells of rainfall. Gusty winds are also expected, with speeds potentially reaching between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
