The crucial Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been reopened after an extensive 19-hour closure. The disruption was caused by a significant landslide, a consequence of the heavy monsoon rains lashing the region.
Authorities worked diligently to clear the debris and ensure the safety of the road before allowing vehicles to pass. The closure had led to considerable traffic congestion and inconvenience for commuters travelling between the two major cities.
With the expressway now operational, normal traffic flow between Mumbai and Pune is expected to resume, easing the backlog that had built up during the shutdown.
