The Mumbai Food and Drug Administration has cancelled the food licence of Blinkit’s Vile Parle outlet as part of a festive‑season inspection, also suspending licences of five other eateries.

The Mumbai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Friday that it has withdrawn the food licence of Blinkit’s outlet in Vile Parle, a suburb of the city. The action was taken during a broader festive‑season crackdown aimed at ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Inspectors said the revocation follows findings of violations that could jeopardise public health, although specific breaches were not disclosed. In the same sweep, licences of five other food establishments in the city were also suspended pending further investigation.

The loss of its licence forces Blinkit to halt operations at the Vile Parle location until it can obtain clearance from the authorities. The company has not released an official comment on the matter.

The FDA reiterated its commitment to rigorous monitoring during high‑traffic periods such as festivals, emphasizing that any establishment found non‑compliant will face strict penalties.
